Apple is planning to bring an ‘in-display fingerprint scanner’ feature to its future devices.

The new fingerprint scanner (Fingerprint scanner) in the Apple smartphone will be in the main display of the iPhone. Which will also be covered from outside with a protective layer. The scanner will also have a touch-sensitive layer and a display layer.

It also includes all models of the company’s newly launched iPhone 12 (iPhone-12). The company has previously removed the Touch ID feature from its iPhone. According to a report, the company has received a patent for in-display fingerprint scanner. The company reportedly applied for this patent in October 2018 at the US Patent and Trademark Office. Currently, iPhone users are using Face ID instead of Touch ID.

Feature will be equipped with protective layer – According to the report, this patent called ‘Shortwave’ infers optical imaging through an electronic device display. Please tell that this new fingerprint scanner will be in the main display of the iPhone. Which is also covered from outside by a protective layer. The scanner also has a touch-sensitive layer and a display layer.

This scanner will work like this- The company has not yet provided any information on how the scanner works, but according to a disclosure in the report, the optical imaging system in it will send a shortwave infrared light upwards. Which will contact the finger on the surface of the phone.
