Police arrested a 15-year-old teenager in connection with a shootout in suburban Milwaukee Mall. Eight people were injured in this incident. Wauwatosa Police Chief Barry Weber said the incident of abuse occurred on Friday afternoon due to a dispute between two groups. He told that in this incident, four people standing nearby were also shot, but there is no threat to anyone’s life. Currently most people have been discharged from the hospital, but the information of the injured has not been made public.
Investigators said that the suspected teenager had escaped from the mall along with the rest. Weber said in a press conference on Sunday, “There was an argument over something and then the bullets went off.” The authorities have not revealed the name of the suspect and also did not give any information about what allegations have been made on him. Investigators said that a weapon has also been recovered. Police said the mall was closed on Saturday and investigators were present on the spot. The shopkeepers were allowed back to the mall on Sunday.
Wauwatosa Mayor Dennis McBride told the New York Times that the mall is Wauwatosa’s largest taxpayer and Milwaukee County’s busiest mall. McBride said that those injured in this attack have not suffered fatal injuries. He said that it was also not clear that those who were injured were shot.
